TEK Fest
TEK Fest
Saturday, March 2, 2024 | 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
FREE | No Tickets Required
Celebrate the arrival of spring at FAM! This free, family friendly event explores Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) through stories and song, hands-on activities, and more. Join FAM and our community collaborators to gain a new appreciation for Indigenous knowledge, STEM and Oklahoma’s unpredictable spring weather.
This drop-in event is FREE, with gallery admission available for separate purchase at any Guest Services desk. The museum will remain open until 5 p.m. once the event concludes.
In addition to sponsoring TEK Fest, Boeing continues its support for FAM programs with the introduction of the Sky Terrace Murals. Three artists–Chad “Nish” Earles (Caddo Nation), Erin Shaw (Chickasaw Nation), and Michael Elizondo, Jr. (Cheyenne)–were commissioned to create murals on key architectural features of the mound path, representing the moon, sun, and stars. These murals, reflecting First American understanding of the world, honor ancestral knowledge through artistic expression.
TEK Fest will feature an array of engaging activities and demonstrations including aerospace activities, film screenings, seed anatomy studies, plant identification, climate and weather activities, compost science, video game demonstrations, dendrochronology explorations, and more.
