Talk: Storytelling with our Community

The First Americans Museum media team created 30 media projects for OKLA HOMMA and WINIKO: Life of an Object, Selections from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. These media projects, conceptualized by FAM curatorial staff, are a combination of films, soundscapes and interactives, and involved four production teams. Key to the development of these media projects were interviewing the storytellers from our community. The media team interviewed over 70 people, including chiefs, leaders, elders, knowledge givers, scholars, and leaders. Members of the curatorial and media staff will discuss the background and process of storytelling with our community.
